Rainbow Crayons by kleinmeli Rainbow Crayons by kleinmeli
Finally got my hands on some original "Crayons"!
(Something damn near impossible in Germany...damn it!).

Colors came out way better with them!

Info:
- I used 103 Crayons
- It's a 90x70m canvas
- Took me 2 hours
- Nearly killed my hairdryer XD
- I got the idea from here: [link]

These are the only survivors!

I think that your version came out much better than the original you took the idea from. LOL
Maybe because you used much more crayons and the tint mixed pretty well together, making the color transition much smoother.

I might try something like this one day...maybe not a rainbow, but it will definately include melted crayons and hairdryers. lol

Great job! :w00t!:

Awesome! I have a friend that used maybe 10 crayons and did this on a small canvas and it was really cool. I really wanna do this, but man what a mess and a waste (In my mums opinion.)

How did you get it to melt so neatly? When I tried the wax splattered all over the place. ;3;

You just need to heat them up from above and not frontal. This way you can even direct in which direction the colors should go. ;)

Do you think the brand of crayons might be a factor too? o-O
'Cause I used RoseArt and I think the wax is thinner x'D

Most likely.
I used some cheap ones before, but it didn't splatter at all, they just melted really FAST!

Looks pretty cool! I love how the colours blended together

If you lived in a tropical country, you could probably just leave that canvas with the glued crayons outside and it would have melted on its own. When I was little, I used to get in trouble with my parents for leaving my crayons in the car because they end up becoming a blob of melted wax.

Your melted crayon art reminds me of one art project in elementary school -- we got to melt the tips of the crayons on a candle and then colour with it. It made the texture pretty interesting.

BTW, that link goes to a site that is now suspended.

Lucky you. :/ I had a really hard time getting my hands on 6 x24 boxes. Some friends went to England and got me these.
You can order some online, but I would pay like 20times the worth of the actual boxes on shipping alone. XD

Thank you!
